Vetting


As well as undergoing a thorough face-to-face interview, by a qualified nurse every applicant is subject to a thorough vetting procedure. Which Includes:

  • An enhanced level Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), or in Scotland, enhanced Disclosure, check. Learn more about DBS's here
  • Written references from a candidate's previous two employers
  • A full employment history (with all gaps explained)
  • Verification of a candidate's identity
  • Verification of NMC PIN number. N.M.C.
  • Work permit status (if applicable)
  • Verification of qualifications and training certificates
  • Checks against the Sex Offenders Register
  • Declaration of physical and mental fitness
  • Immunisation status

Social Care and Specialist Forensic Training


Our staff are expertly trained and continuously supervised using accredited training and ongoing appraisals. Assist Healthcare has formed training partnerships with national social care training organisations so that Advanced Training opportunities are provided to all Assist Healthcare Staff. In addition to statutory and mandatory basic training our staff receive high quality audio-visual e-learning, this is always available for Assist Healthcare Staff. We embrace their continuous professional development as a key to continuous service improvements for our service users.

Accreditations, Licences and Insurance


Assist Healthcare is registered and insured to provide care services to the NHS as an approved provider of temporary staff under the Framework Agreements and Buying Solutions Framework. We are regulated by the Care Quality Commission, We work with the NHS, GP's Social Services, Independent Hospitals, Schools and allied health professionals, available 24 hours a day.

Assist Healthcare subscribes to and upholds the GSCC's (General Social Care Council) & NMC's (Nursing & Midwifery Council) Codes and Standards of Professional Conduct, integrating their qualities into our every day practices.
